Grunts

Who are the Grunts?

Grunts are basic enemy units encountered in the Trials, often deployed in large numbers to challenge Reagents. They are not as intelligent or powerful as Prime Assets, but they are relentless, coordinated, and trained to corner players or guard key areas. Grunts are highly expendable, making them a constant threat to unprepared Reagents.

Behavior in the Trials

Grunts patrol predefined areas, react to sounds, and can form rudimentary packs to chase or trap Reagents. They are predictable individually, but in groups they can overwhelm players quickly. Their attacks are basic but frequent, making timing and positioning crucial for survival.

Tips for Playing Against Grunts

  • Use distractions: Throwing objects or activating traps can divert groups of Grunts.
  • Take them out one by one: Avoid engaging multiple Grunts at once.
  • Use Rigs effectively: Stun, EMP, or Med Rigs can help manage encounters.
  • Plan your route: Knowing patrol patterns reduces the chance of being ambushed.
  • Stick to the team: Grunts are less dangerous when players coordinate and cover each other.
